چکیده

We propose an analog current-mode subthreshold CMOS circuit implementing a piecewise linear neuromorphic oscillator. Our circuit was derived from a piecewise linear oscillator model proposed by Matsuoka, well known as a building block for constructing a robot locomotion controller. We modified Matsuoka’s oscillator to be suitable for analog current-mode integrated circuit implementation, and designed and fabricated it as an analog current-mode circuit. Through circuit simulations and experimental results on a fabricated chip, we demonstrate that our neuromorphic oscillator generates a stable oscillation, and the amplitude and frequency of the oscillation can be controlled by tuning bias currents over a wide range. Further, we propose a compensation for device mismatch in the neuromorphic oscillator through feedback from a coupled physical system. r 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A Chaotic Oscillator Cell in Subthreshold Cmos for Spatio-temporal Simulation

This paper reports on the design and experimental results of a subthreshold-CMOS chaotic oscillator suitable for single-chip VLSI synthesis of coupled maps generating spatio-temporal chaos. The circuit is autonomous and generates chaotic signals in three state variables in a manner analogous to a Chua circuit. Previous CMOS oscillators operate above threshold and utilize current over two orders...

A New Trans-admittance-Mode Biquad Filter Suitable for Low Voltage Operation

The trans-admittance-mode (TAM) might act as a transforming bridge for voltage-mode to current-mode conversion. In this study a new low voltage operated electronically tunable TAM biquad filter structure realizing all the seven standard filtering functions namely; low-pass (LP), band-pass (BP), high-pass (HP), regular-notch (RN), low-pass-notch (LPN), high-pass-notch (HPN) and all-pass (AP) fro...

Realization of Novel Cascadable Current-Mode All-pass Sections

This paper introduces four new resistorless circuits of first-order current-mode all-pass filter (CMAPF) based on dual-X current conveyor transconductance amplifier (DXCCTA). All the four circuits use a single DXCCTA and a capacitor for their realization. The main features of the proposed CMAPFs are: use of minimum active and passive components, resistorless realization, electronically adjustab...
